Minnpost: Meet the student support model that’s going national. It’s been incubating at St. Louis Park High School for 18 years

[BARR is] working in rural districts. It’s working in urban districts. No matter the student demographics, the results are the same: increased attendance rates, decreased discipline rates, increases in credits earned and test scores, and more.

It’s called Building Assets, Reducing Risks (BARR). The framework was developed by a former school counselor in the district, Angela Jerabek, who saw a need to create a comprehensive support system for ninth-graders struggling to make the transition to high school.
