Jim Boothby is a retired Maine educator who most recently served as the Superintendent of School for Regional School Unit 25, a small rural school district. As an educator for thirty three years he has held roles as a teacher, coach, bus driver, athletic administrator, assistant principal, principal, and 19 years as a Superintendent of Schools. Jim has served as the President of the Maine Superintendent of Schools Association (2022) and twelve years on the MSSA Property and Casualty Board of Trustees. Locally, Jim has been a member of the Bucksport Economic Development Committee, a member of the Bucksport Recreation Committee, a member of the Bucksport Bay Healthy Communities Coalition and on the Board of Directors for the Downeast YMCA. In addition to his work with BARR, Jim is the Executive Director of the Penobscot River Educational Service Center, a coalition of thirty five school districts in eastern Maine, and a member of the Board of Directors for the Bangor Masonic Dyslexia Center.
