Leigh Abrahamson is a retired school social worker who dedicated more than three decades to supporting students and families in Minnesota. Leigh began her career in the Adams County School District before returning to Minnesota in 1981, where she joined St. Louis Park Public Schools, working at both the junior high and senior high before transitioning full-time to St. Louis Park High School. She served the district until her retirement in December 2013. Throughout her career, Leigh was deeply committed to addressing the broader challenges facing young people. She was a founding partner and board member of Teens Alone, collaborating with west suburban districts to support youth experiencing homelessness. She also led the School Attendance Review Board (SARB) in St. Louis Park, working closely with students and families to address truancy, and represented SARB on a Hennepin County interdisciplinary committee focused on community and court responses to attendance issues.
