The BARR team recently participated in A Better Future event, which is aimed to inspire hope and collective action to build a better future for Chicago!
North Lawndale – Collins Campus student, Jerrell Sample, spoke at the event and talked about how to make his community a better place by bringing positive change to youth through providing them with additional resources. Check out Jerrell sharing his story in this event video.
Sample also talked about his experiences with BARR. “This program created a network of support to ensure that I not only [was] promoted to my sophomore year, but I was able to balance my basketball career and stay academically stable. Programs like BARR have positively impact[ed] the youth and provide access to resources to ensure that we can accomplish our goals,” Sample said.
