FOR EDUCATORS

Our evidence-backed approach helps educators support K-12 students more effectively.

An educator-centric model

BARR helps schools meet their goals.

Schools today have big goals and lots to contend with to meet them. Even as staff are introduced to ever-newer tech tools and promises of innovation, they’re too often left feeling alone in dealing with the challenges of the system that asks too much of them. The BARR Model helps increase student engagement and increases opportunities for staff to collaborate on driving success.

We make it happen by following a few key principles that sound almost too simple on paper, but in practice, they’re powerful beyond measure.

    • We work as a system that gets added to what’s already working in the school. It’s not a curriculum; it’s a system designed to scale, flex, and fit with the school. Teachers retain their style, unique voice, and classroom content.
    • We pair strong relationships (staff-to-staff, staff-to-student, and student-to-student) with real-time data to empower educators with a more holistic picture of their students’ needs and strengths.
    • We facilitate alignment and focus across the staff team, reducing feelings of isolation and leaning into the strength of true collaboration.

Educator support

We partner with you from onboarding through mastery.

Training and coaching

Our experienced BARR coaches and trainers are hands-on with you in person for six days a year and connecting virtually every week. When educators are given a community of support and the agency to take responsibility for the classroom in a new way, amazing things happen.

New approach

Our team works with each school to layer the new system of collaboration into the existing structure so you can quickly start seeing successes. By fostering resilience in the school and in the staff, the students start to build resilience that shows up in their test scores and their excitement to come to school.

Supportive national network

When you join BARR, you’re joining a community of schools across the country committed to changing the way education works. You’ll have access to online resources, your dedicated coach and more—any time questions come up or milestones need to celebrated!

BARR Sample Lessons

How we bring connection back to schools.

When it comes down to really understanding what makes the magic happen inside a classroom of a BARR school, sometimes the answer is powerfully simple. The lessons are a core part of how we foster deeper relationships in schools, especially between students, and between educators and students.

We know that sometimes you have to actually get your hands on something to truly understand it. We’re happy to share a couple examples.
